In the first few movements, both parts move. In the subsequent movements, the upper leg did ‘Really Not Move’, but the abdominal area moved, as if separated from the leg.
In order to prevent the leg from being ‘pulled to follow’ the abdominal area, one attempts pushing towards the knee with the leg. This, combined with the abdominal area going away from the joint, creates more separation. The parts separate and are no longer one.
The movement creates a new ‘one’ that has a greater length.
The opening of the kua, the rotation of the joint, the splitting of the lines, the ‘not moving’ of the upper leg, the stillness of the leg enables the ground to travel up the leg to the kua. The abdominal movement takes the ground to the back to make another non moving part on the back.
The R foot then ends up (forms one alignment) to/on the upper left side of the body.
Master Chen first shows in the video how the dantian and upper leg move ‘double heavy’; there is a connection between the two body parts where they make approximately the same movement; there is no clear relationship according to taiji principles. He then demonstrates how to separate dantian and upper leg by means of a ‘separation’ by ‘opening the kua’ , rotating the dantian and pushing down/spiraling down the leg. Now there is no longer a connection but a relationship: the thigh does not move where the finger is. By applying a ‘first level ying yang split’ he makes a stretch between the point on the thigh and the point on the dantian where the other finger is.

please correct me
Oh, I remember feeling this at the San Francisco seminar. The axis in the thigh was very distinct from the axis of the body; they felt like two rods

陈老师,常说的整劲,和咱们一再强调的阴阳分离,好像是矛盾的,您能说一下,什么时候需要分离,什么时候要成为整劲吗
